International Day of Peace

Oceans of Happiness
Sunrise peaceful. Today is the 21 September 2021 International Day of Peace. Meanwhile…back in Berlin 10 years ago today I released 80 fish into the largest lake in town to celebrate the International Day of Peace. It was an epic moment that evolved into an arts project and a proposal for corporates to practise csr (corporate social responsibility). I built www.tse-thar.org based on indepth research of the global situation in the oceans.

healthy oceans

What was the point? To encourage compassionate action in urban environments. Who cared about the future of fish in the sea? Nobody.

I still have contact to the fish, and send them my best wishes of hope and happiness. Carp can live up to 100 years and more. That’s a cool concept. It is inevitable that some got eaten by people and hungry birds. That’s nature. There’s no sharks and killer whales in Wannsee.

Do you remember online 2011? Global corps and orgs only talked about problems. Great long scientific research and papers, articles, never ending lists. Back then the main focus was to promote more more more. More problems. People laughed about my predictions 2050 no fish in the sea left.  The world was in a state of overwhelm. Presenting solutions was way too much. Those were the days where consumption was the key. Busy as.That stuck. Enter the social entrepreneur. Share ideas, photos and films. Lucky MZ. Social good + make money through meet ups labs and mining creativity. Maker spaces fab labs and start ups started.

Fast forward 2021 today is the International Day of Peace. The world is in a big mess. Tipping points. Shopping. Extinction denial. Driving. Disasters. Building like there’s no tomorrow. The wildest thing happening is weather reports. Solutions rising out of shitstorms. Great news: The Tīkapa Moana / Te Moananui-ā-Toi / Hauraki Gulf Challenge Fund is releasing mussels to the sea bed. Congrats for using the power of mussels to stay in the ocean! May the oceans be peaceful!

Today Auckland city is in last day of level 4 lockdown = no boats, no jetskis, no shopping, people walking, riding bikes and watching dolphins. Kapai. Enjoy your day of peace. Sunrise peaceful.
